The numbers and the order of species used in this checklist follow the sixth edition of Roberts’ Birds of Southern Africa and serves as a reference to most fieldguides of the region.

Stevensford is a 3500 ha private nature conservancy situated on the Limpopo River in Botswana’s Tuli Block. The Reserve, which is also a working game farm, is home to many species, including giraffe, zebra, eland, gemsbok, waterbuck, kudu, blue wildebeest, bushbuck, red hartebeest, impala, steenbok, duiker, aardwolf, aardvark, brown hyena, warthog, crocodile and hippopotamus. There have been rare sightings of cheetah, leopard, bat-eared foxes and bushpig.
